  1. Silk Dupatta 
  • Handwashed 

Step: take a basin with cold water, add a mild detergent. Soak the dupatta and swirl gently without rubbing.

Rinsing: Rinse in cold running water until soap is removed.

Drying: On clean towel till water is dried out of it. Then hang to dry out in cool dappled shade not to direct sun.

  • Machine Washed

Process: In case the label allows, put the dupatta in a mesh laundry bag. Use cold water with delicate cycle with mild detergent.

Drying: Air dry. Do not dry in the dryer. Hang and dry.

 2. Chiffon Dupatta
  • Hand Washing:

Process: Soak in cold water and a few drops of gentle detergent. Gently agitate and do not scrub.

Rinsing: Rinse in cold water until clean.

Drying: Place flat on a towel and roll up, let it dry.

  •   Machine Wash

Steps: Use gentle cycle in a mesh bag and use cold water. Add mild detergent.

Drying: Air dry so the fabric will not lose its flow.

3. Cotton Dupatta
  • Hand Wash

Step: Soaking in cold water with mild detergent. Clean any stained portions using your fingers.

- Rinse thoroughly in cold water.

-Padding: Dry flat.

  • Machine Cleaning:

- Steps: For machine washing, wash in cold water with mild detergent using a mild cycle.

- Drying: Tumble dry or hang to get crisp finish.

4. Georgette Dupatta
  • Hand Cleaning:

Step: In a basin take cold water and mild detergent. Soak and gently agitate.

- Rinsing: Rinse under cold running water.

- Drying: Dry flat, hang to prevent wrinkles.

  • Machine Washing:

- Steps: Place in a mesh bag and wash in cold water on a delicate cycle.

- Drying: Air dry to retain softness.

5. Net Dupatta
  • Hand Washing:

- Steps: Cold water, gentle detergent. Soak, gently swish.

- Rinsing: Cold water, do not wring.

Drying: Flatten it on a towel to soak up as much of the moisture as possible and then hang.

  • Machine Washing:

Steps:  If machine washing is a must, then do a delicate cycle and put the item in a mesh bag.

Drying:  Air dry as fabrics are tender, so drying could rip or tear it.

 6. Embroidered Dupatta
  • Hand Washing:

-Steps:  You have to prepare cold water with mild detergent. Soak it for just a while

-Rinsing:  Just let the detergents be washed off by soft rinsing, so that the embroidery on it will not be unraveled.

-Drying:  When drying, just spread it flat on the towel, away from direct sunlight.

  • Machine Washing:

- Washing: ONLY IF NECESSARY; Use a mesh bag on a gentle cycle with cold water

- Drying: Air dry. Do not use direct heat

7. Bandhani Dupatta
  • Hand Wash

- Process: Get it wet with cold water and mild detergent. Do not scrub.

- Rinse: Thoroughly, in cold water. Color will be bright

- Dry: Lay flat to dry, away from direct sunlight.

  • Machine Wash

- Washing: Gentle cycle with cold water, mesh bag if required

- Drying: Air-dry in line to prevent the fabrics from fading.


8. Dupion Silk Dupatta
  • Hand Wash:

- Washing: Cold water mild detergent soak gently agitate for no more than a minute or two.

- Rinsing: Rinse under cold running water till soap disappears.

- Drying: Lay flat in a towel for air drying when dry on a clothesline **Machine Wash :

- Wash: Hand wash if permitted, gentle cycle with cold water, and in a mesh bag.

- Dry: No dryer. Hang to dry


9. Tussar Silk Dupatta
  • Hand Wash

- Steps: Swim in cold water with mild detergent for a short period of time

- Rinse: Gently rinse in cold water

- Dry: Place flat on a towel for the dupatta to soak in and then hang it.

  • Machine Washing

- Steps: Hand wash, only if the label allows it. Wash in a mesh bag in a delicate cycle.

- Drying: To be air dried to retain the integrity of the fabric.

10. Kota Doria Dupatta
  • Hand Washing:

- Steps: Soaked in cold water using a mild detergent. No scrubbing allowed.

- Rinsing: Rinsed well so as to remove all soap residues.

- Drying: Laid flat, keeping it away from sunlight.

  • Machine Washing:

- Steps: Delicate cycle; cold water with a mesh bag.

- Drying: Just air dry to retain the feel of the fabric.
